Building the Foundation

African Leadership Academy is transforming Africa by developing and supporting future generations of African leaders. By taking remarkable young Africans who have shown the potential for greatness and building on their strengths, their perseverance, their understanding of social issues and needs, ALA is empowering, guiding and networking this emboldened generation. The foundation starts with an intensive two-year program that focuses on practical leadership experience, training in social entrepreneurship and a deep understanding of the overarching issues facing Africa on both the grand and local scales.

Such an experience is built not only in the classroom, but in the whole immersive student life. Built on the world-class A-Level curriculum, the ALA experience adds a unique LEA (Leadership, Entrepreneurship, African Studies) element, then completely submerses the class work in student-defined and led hands-on projects with real-world impacts. Every aspect of ALA student life is built around leadership, responsibility, and compassion for others.
