Molade Osibodu
Mathematics

Molade Osibodu, a Nigerian citizen, joined the Mathematics faculty at the African Leadership Academy in August 2010 where she specializes in Pure Mathematics and Mechanics. Molade enjoys the challenge that comes with teaching Mathematics to a class enriched with so much diversity. She received her Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of Memphis in 2006. During her tenure at the University of Memphis, she was awarded the Outstanding Junior by the Honors program. She was also the recipient of the prestigious Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship, which recognizes students based on merit and service. Furthermore, she was the recipient of scholarships from the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Upon graduation, she worked as an Engineer in Arkansas where she concurrently received her Masters degree in Applied Mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in 2009. At UCA, she was awarded a Graduate Teaching Assistantship thus getting the opportunity to become an instructor of College Algebra and Business Calculus for 5 semesters. She is currently on a leave of absence from the University of Georgia where she is pursuing a doctorate in Mathematics Education. Upon completion of this degree, she plans on using her skills to improve the secondary education system in Nigeria.
Molade has been passionate about Mathematics from a very young age and has tutored her peers since she was 13 years old. Having 10+ years experience in tutoring has led her to create the tutoring lab at ALA, which encourages students to tutor their peers in a structured environment.
Molade is an avid Memphis basketball fan (GO TIGERS), Georgia Bulldog football fan (GO DAWGS) and Manchester United supporter. She is savoring her time working in an extremely diverse and supportive workplace and enjoying the opportunity to live and work in beautiful South Africa.
