CIS University Tour Makes Annual Visit to ALA

October 31st, 2012

The Council of International Schools (CIS) made its annual visit to ALA on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.

Second-year ALA students, most of who are currently applying to international Universities, participated in the CIS College Fair.

There were representatives from Agnes Scott College, Carleton University — Canada, Colgate University, Davidson College, McGill University, Michigan State University, Savannah College of Art and Design, Stanford University, State University of New York — Plattsburg, Truman State University, University of California — Davis, University of Chicago, University of South Florida, University of Tampa, University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, Winthrop University, and Yale — NUS College National University of Singapore.

Two of these institutions, Michigan State University and Stanford University, were recently named along with African Leadership Academy as partners in The MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program. This landmark initiative is a $500 million education partnership that addresses access to education and employment for talented yet economically disadvantaged students from developing countries — particularly in Africa.

The CIS University Tour is an excellent opportunity for ALA students to become familiar with the multitude of higher education options that are offered abroad by speaking personally with college and university admissions officers.

The CIS University Tour travels to eight different African countries and this is the fourth consecutive year that the Council of International Schools has chosen to host the CIS University Tour at African Leadership Academy.
