About Us > ALA Outreach
ALA OutreachThe Academy will leverage its resources to create positive change beyond the
boundaries of its campus in South Africa. Our outreach activities include:
Lectures Open to the Public
An evening speaker series will be free and open to the public. These events will be
broadcasted and archived on the Academy’s website, making them available to people across Africa
and around the world.
Free Teacher Training
African Leadership Academy faculty will travel to locations throughout Africa to host free
teacher seminars. These seminars will help teachers across the continent adopt some of our best
teaching methods and classroom strategies.
“Junior Academy” Camps
During holiday periods, 14-16 year old students from across the continent will be invited to
spend time at the Academy in camps that develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills. This will
expand our reach to a broader group of students.
Student Community Projects
Each Academy student must complete a meaningful “Culminating Service Project” prior to
graduating. Students will craft and implement a project that has a lasting positive impact on an
African community.
Sharing Our Unique Curriculum
African Leadership Academy will publish and share its unique African studies,
entrepreneurship, and leadership curricula with other schools from across the continent, and
Academy faculty will assist in its implementation via teacher exchanges and other programs.
