A Message from Dean Chris Khaemba
 Dear Prospective Student,
If we are to confront the many challenges we face on our continent, we must begin developing
a new generation of leaders. At African Leadership Academy we will challenge you to realize your
academic and leadership potential. You will be prepared for university study, and you will be
encouraged to begin addressing the social, economic, and political issues facing Africa. You will
be asked to think critically about your role in our changing world.
Will you be among the next generation of leaders that transforms Africa and the
world?
African Leadership Academy is not just a world-class secondary school: it is a place where
students and faculty will converge from across our continent – and from all over the globe. Members
of our community will speak many languages and observe various cultural and religious customs. But
all will share a common dream of making Africa and the world a better place. At African Leadership
Academy you will develop the skills necessary to analyze and understand the world around you and
begin taking action.
At ALA, you will have teachers who are truly dedicated to your academic and personal growth.
Inside the classroom, your teachers will share their passions for their subjects and will encourage
you to explore challenging topics. Outside the classroom, you will have the opportunity to discover
the breadth of their talents and passions. Finally, and importantly, your teachers will be there to
provide additional academic support or counseling.
