African Leadership Foundation
 African Leadership Foundation is a 501(c)(3) grantmaking nonprofit
organization in the United States that supports the development of future African leaders. Gifts to
African Leadership Foundation may be tax-deductible in the United States.
African Leadership Foundation was established in January 2005 by ALA founders and currently
fulfills its mission by supporting the establishment of African Leadership Academy. African
Leadership Foundation is wholly independent of African Leadership Academy, with a distinct Board of
Directors.

Flows of Funds between the Foundation and African Leadership Academy
Funds donated to African Leadership Foundation are granted on a quarterly basis to African
Leadership Academy upon receipt of a written grant request and detailed budget. The African
Leadership Foundation Board of Directors retains complete discretion over the funding of any
particular grant request. The financial statements of both African Leadership Academy and African
Leadership Foundation are reviewed by independent auditors on an annual basis to provide
transparency and confidence to our global base of donors and supporters.
