Dana was born in the US in the mountains of North Carolina and moved to Johannesburg from California a little over 1 year ago with her husband and teenage daughter. She completed her undergraduate degree from George Washington in Washington, DC and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The California School of Professional Psychology in 2004. For the past 20 years, Dana has focused on helping late adolescents and young adults overcome obstacles, access their strengths, and to be their best selves in order to reach their goals.She specializes in multicultural counseling, having most recently worked at UC Berkeley and in private practice in Berkeley, CA. Dana joined ALA in September 2019 as a consultant to the Wellness Department and as an SEP Board Member advising 2 mental health and wellness related SEP’s. Dana is a foodie who loves traveling the world, hip-hop dance, and tennis and basketball. She was also a University Rower.
