Kate heads up ALA’s Institutional Learning team, which stewards the organization’s strategic Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning work to strengthen our routine monitoring systems. This ensures that we are evaluating our programs and sharing insights so that program teams can make evidence- and data-driven programmatic innovations.
She works with teams across the organization and interacts daily with the organization’s data across a range of systems. Kate joined the African Leadership Academy in 2012 and has assumed a variety of roles. She transitioned from her role as Chief of Staff for the US operations to overseeing strategic change management projects within the Fundraising team, including helping to redesign internal operations to better align with industry best practices.
Prior to her time at ALA, Kate worked as an economist at the South African Competition Commission, which is a governmental agency that works to mitigate and address anti-competitive practices in the South African economy.
