“Prior to joining ALA, Phenyo was enrolled at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits University). It is there that he obtained his degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
During his academic career at Wits University, he was involved in several projects within the Chemistry department. Mainly, dealing with Medicinal Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry. Additionally, he later became a member of the Wits Chemistry School Council as well as the Golden Key Honors Society. However, due to his passion for Education and the upliftment of fellow young people, he enrolled and obtained a PGCE (teacher training diploma) from (I'm not sure) Wits University . While completing his PGCE, he worked as a research assistant and, was part of the Wits School of Education academic staff, whereby he assisted with academic support and online assessments.
Apart from academics, Phenyo has played basketball at various levels and coached the sport at secondary school level. Through the sport, he continuously works with Jr. NBA and BIM in the Royal Bafokeng area to help in camps and skills clinics in order to develop the next generation of athletes both domestically and throughout the African continent.”
