Laurene Amoit

KENYA
ALforHealth Sector Lead

Laurene is responsible for executing the ALforHealth vision of building a series of pan-African networks comprised of young people, professionals and other stakeholders seeking to address change in the health sector.

Laurene heads up the ALforHealth network, engaging employer partners and professionals from across Africa to create internship and job opportunities for our young leaders. This includes network building and strengthening, organizing network programs such as on-campus programs and speakers events, and reporting to donors. In addition, she organizes a bi-annual continental gathering that serves as a platform for collaboration and the development of viable solutions to the challenges in the health sector.

Before joining ALA, she co-founded MamaTips, a Kenyan-based maternal healthcare company leveraging data and technology to serve women in marginalized communities. She served as the Operations Lead before eventually transitioning to a position on the board. She later joined Castlight Health to improve access to quality and affordable healthcare across the US.
