DeJen Parent Chapters
The Academy launched 3 chapters namely in South Africa June 2017 (our host country), Nigeria (March 2017) and Kenya (December 2016). Each chapter comprises of alumni and current parents as far back as our Inaugural class of 2008. Parent are actively supporting our various divisions as ambassadors and mentors to new parents and students. Their unique way of giving back to ALA’s ecosystem and adding their voice to support its mission.
In order to successfully meet the goals of the ALA DeJen, we would like our parents:
- To help build and participate in local country chapters activities in cooperation with the Parent Engagement Office.
To develop innovative and successful ideas within country chapters that could be implemented simultaneously among sister country chapters across the continent.
To engage their time, treasure and talent in ALA’s forthcoming Decennial 2018 celebrations.
We look forward to launching more chapter next year in one of our Francophone countries and in North Africa. We currently have parents from Malawi, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Morocco, Tunisia, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa as members of the parents association. We are deeply grateful for your support and commitment.
