Takondwa Priscilla Semphere was born and raised in Malawi, but home is scattered in people, places and memories. She spent 4.5 years in Massachusetts, USA, where she obtained a BA in African Studies and The Study of Women & Gender at Smith College. She is a reader, writer, student, sister, daughter and friend. Takondwa loves to have conversations about Africa, storytelling, social justice and colonialism, race and the arbitrary nature of borders. Takondwa joins ALA as a Princeton in Africa Fellow, teaching Writing and Rhetoric.
