Lynn Van Der Plank
Lynn van der Plank is a digital marketing professional skilled in Web Development, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and Social Media Management. Google certified in Analytics, Adwords, Online Marketing, and E-Commerce Strategies, Lynn is passionate about the digital industry and seeing it grow in Africa.
At the beginning of her career (2003), she gained experience in sales and marketing at the Nigerian-owned newspaper, This Day.
When the newspaper liquidated, she moved to Caxton Publishers and Printers where she excelled at a number of roles before settling into a senior web editor position. While there, she helped pivot various magazine publications to launch social media profiles and manage their online presence.
After spending 10 years at Caxton, Lynn transitioned to the award-winning, full-service agency Native VML where she was part of the team that managed the social media communities for a number of clients that included the Standard Bank Group (South Africa, Arts, SB OST & Webtrader), and was involved in the marketing campaign #Appy for the Standard Bank banking app.
She then spent four yours as a digital web editor at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, honing in on crisis management during the national #FeesMustFall movement.
Lynn is a Marketing, Advancement and Communication in Education (MACE) Awards winner with the proven ability to create brand exposure in various media platforms and has joined the Academy as Content & Campaigns Manager.
