As part of our lifelong engagement model, ALA supports our graduates attending university and working abroad through a variety of events throughout the year including conferences, regional reunions and supporter events. We are able to keep our ALA community connected with the help of our dedicated supporters, Graduate Host Families, and regional Chapters in the U.S.
Host an ALA Event
ALA supporters can help us by hosting small events throughout the year and helping ALA graduates plan events in their area.
These gatherings could include:
“Friendraisers” are cocktail receptions, dinners or other events hosted by ALA supporters which aim to share information about ALA’s mission and our graduates’ accomplishments in their own communities and around the world.
Reunions are a chance for the ALA graduates who attend school in a specific region to gather together for a weekend to exchange college stories, have fun, stay up-to-date with their fellow ALA graduates, and strengthen the ALA network of young leaders. Reunions can include anything from campus retreats to bowling parties and other social events.
For cities in which we have a large number of ALA graduates attending university, ALA supporters and Graduate Hosts Families can host small events in their home or community to share information and experiences from their own hosting experiences, and to recruit new Graduate Hosts. Graduate Hosts play an integral role in supporting our Graduates and we are always eager to connect further with families and individuals interested joining this program.
