Alan Main

Alan Main is currently a Senior Advisor and member of the Investment Committee (HEAL Fund) at Bamboo Capital Partners. With more than 30 years of experience in marketing, Alan formerly worked in the Global Business Unit for the Consumer Healthcare business at Sanofi and Medical Device fields, initially with Stafford Miller/Block Drug. He then moved to Merrell Dow (Sanofi) and the London Rubber Company.

In 1992, he joined Roche Consumer Health where he took on positions of increasing responsibility, from Marketing Manager to Country Division Head to Vice President in the United Kingdom, South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region, respectively. Following the acquisition of Roche Consumer Health by Bayer Pharmaceuticals in 2005, Alan continued to occupy key management roles, including Vice President for Asia Pacific and Europe. In 2010 Alan transferred to the medical device business of Bayer as Global President for Bayer Medical Care. He is also the Chairman of the US Board of Directors of the National Theatre of Scotland.

Alan Main has a BA (Hons) in International Marketing from Thames Polytechnic, University of Greenwich, in London, and has completed various executive and leadership development programs at London, Harvard and Columbia Business Schools, as well as INSEAD (Asia).
