Dashen Naicker

Dashen works with the Writing and Rhetoric faculty to devise and direct curricula pertinent to the experiences of young Africans.
Dashen teaches methods of close reading and critical enquiry to further students’ development as critical thinkers and communicators.
Dashen was a lecturer and researcher at the University of Zululand in rural KwaZulu Natal from 2011 — 2015. He taught literary theory and African literature at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He, additionally, spent time co-directing drama performances and managing a young writers’ forum.
Dashen leads the Seminal Readings programme at ALA. He uses this core programme to enhance students’ development as critical thinkers, collaborators, and communicators.
