Israel Titi Ofei has a Bsc in Chemistry and attended the MA in Education program at Oxford Brookes University, UK, Ghana. He has been a teacher of long standing, first at the prestigious Achimota School in Ghana then for the past 19 years, at SOS Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC), in various capacities. He currently serves as the Principal.
Mr. Ofei is also an educational consultant for the World Bank’s IFC educational projects in Ghana and simultaneously an educational expert for the SOS Kinderdorf International Organisation, specifically their International Committee on Education, on which he is currently serving. He supported the educational reform process in Ghana, serving as a curriculum developer and trainer of trainers during the reforms of 1987. He was involved in the National Distance Education Programme in Ghana (particularly the Educational Television Programmes and Girls Clinic for the promotion of Science and Mathematics Education), and he is a member of the Schools Authorization and Examination Inspections teams for the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He is also a consultant to various schools in Ghana and Nigeria, assisting them with introducing the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programmes. Lastly, Mr. Ofei is the Coordinator of the SOS-HGIC distant intervention programmes for the SOS schools across Africa.
Mr. Ofei also sits on the boards of Child Helpline Foundation (in Ghana), Tema International School, Ghana Industrial Skills Development Centre (which he chairs), and the International Schools, Association where he serves as vice chair.
