Special Donation: Remembering Mr W. Paatii Ofosu-Amaah

ALA is deeply saddened by the passing of W. Paatii Ofosu-Amaah, and are honored to be able to pay tribute to his passion for Africa and commitment to supporting education and the future leaders of the continent.

Most recently, Mr. Ofosu-Amaah’s efforts were directed at bringing about peace in South Sudan serving as Senior Advisor to the AU High Implementation Panel chaired by former President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki. Prior to that, in his role as Special Advisor to the President of the African Development Bank, Mr. Ofosu-Amaah left an indelible mark on AfDB’s development, policy and operational work. During his almost 30 years at the World Bank, he made major contributions to the legal operations and policy framework of the bank. In particular, he was one of the pioneers of World Bank’s work on legal and judicial report, particularly in Africa. Alongside his professional work, he dedicated his time and expertise to a number of Boards including the African University of Science and Technology, the Nelson Mandela Institution, and the African Law Institute.

The Ofosu-Amaah family has requested that gifts be made to African Leadership Academy in memory of W. Paatii Ofosu-Amaah. To do so, please click here.
