We are pleased to share that two teams from African Leadership Academy’s Investment and Finance Club, the Peacocks and Amakhosi, have made it to the next round of the CFO Junior Case Study Competition. The CFO is an annual, multi-round business management and leadership-focused case study competition. This year, the CharterQuest Institute has launched a junior version that targets South African high schools. 220 teams entered this year’s competition, all competing to solve a set of business management problems based on “real-life” scenarios. Each scenario draws on skills in accounting, business studies, and economics. Out of all of these teams, only 20 were selected as finalists, making the accomplishments of these two teams very notable! Going forward, each of the top 20 teams will present a ten minute video presentation to the Examining board. The top six teams will then proceed to the second of four final rounds
ALA’s Investment and Finance club is run by Mr. Demeke Wondmagegn, a mathematics teacher at the Academy. Each team consists of three first-year students. Congratulations to The Peacocks (Abdelaziz Benmehrez, Mohamed Amine Soufaih, and Cyril Michino Chege) and also to Amakhosi (Jesse Johnson, Dumebi Gloria Akukwe and Trevor Lwere) We wish you all the best as you proceed to the next stage of the competition!
