A Successful Start to the Season With Applications From All Over Africa

The future belongs to young people with an education and imagination to create.”

– Barack Obama

Each year we seek to identify high potential youth aged 15 to 18 from across the continent. With the help of our partners and the work of our recruitment team, we gather a diverse student body that represents the best of the African continent.

Our mission at African Leadership Academy is to transform Africa by identifying, developing and connecting its future leaders. A new generation of ethical, committed leaders is the key to Africa’s development, and ALA seeks to become the training ground for these future leaders. Our vision is to develop 6,000 leaders over the coming 50 years. With 864 young leaders from 45 different African countries already identified over the last nine years, we are well on our way.

This year sees us celebrating our decennial as we look forward to welcoming our 10th cohort since ALA’s inception. As of 31 August 2017, the first set of results of our Early Decision window we received 679 applications for the diploma program. We look forward to seeing more applications from future scientists, diplomats and entrepreneurs of Africa. Here’s a reminder of why you should apply early.

The next application deadline for early decision is 31 October, visit the  Apply page to learn more.
