Last week, it was announced that three ALA students were among the top 10 performers in the world on their Cambridge International A-Level exams and that two others had placed top in South Africa. Cambridge A-Levels are the leading secondary education credential in the world, and are written by approximately 90,000 students world-wide each year.
In English, two of the top ten performers on the planet were ALA students: Tabitha Wambugha Tongoi of Kenya (4th in the world) and Spencer Jay Horne of South Africa (9th in the world). In History, ALA student Rumbidzai Gondo of Zimbabwe ranked 5th in the world. Additionally, two ALA students were ranked number 1 in Cambridge’s South African exams in their respective subjects: Shadrack Kioi Kiratu (Kenya) placed first in Mathematics and Marie Muhadia Shabaya (Kenya) placed first in Literature.These stellar results are a tribute to these students, to our outstanding faculty, and to the admissions officers and network partners who helped us identify these promising young leaders.
