ALA Joins Global Online Academy

African Leadership Academy has recently joined the Global Online Academy (GOA), an exclusive online community of 50 international schools including the Dalton School, USA; Eton College, England; King’s Academy, Jordan; Frankfurt International School, Germany; and Hong Kong International School, China. With over 900 students on four continents and across 12 time zones taking online classes as diverse as Abnormal Psychology, Bioethics and Gender Studies, GOA is set to break down barriers to collaborative learning and transform the learning landscape as we know it.

ALA Joins Global Online Academy

Eight ALA students will be taking classes such as Poetry Writing, Fiction Writing, Game Theory, IOS App Design and Genocide & Human Rights in the 2014/2015 academic session. All course materials are developed by teachers at member schools, and meet the rigour and standard for which these schools are well-known. Through participating in GOA, students are able, not only to meet high school graduation requirements at leading independent schools around the world, but also take electives that encourage an awakening of new interests and a passion for learning

With growing advancements in the field of education, online learning certainly provides a different dimension of resource and idea sharing for the mutual benefits of students and teachers across the world.

In a statement, Molade Osibodu, GOA faculty coordinator at ALA said “ALA is extremely excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our students because it allows them the opportunity to expand their course offerings beyond what the Academy offers. Furthermore, our students have the opportunity of interacting with students from around the world, and our involvement could potentially raise awareness for our other programmes, namely the Global Scholars Programme (GSP) and Gap Year programme”.
