OANDA Asia Pacific Launches Innovative Foreign Exchange Programme with ALA

African Leadership Academy (ALA) is pleased to announce a partnership programme with OANDA Asia Pacific, the Singapore subsidiary of foreign exchange industry leader OANDA Corporation, that will give our students the opportunity to learn the competitive foreign exchange industry and even make real transactions with real money.

The Foreign Exchange (FX) Education Programme aims to nurture the next generation of FX investors, with a view to grow the understanding of FX as an asset class.

OANDA will run weekly web-based seminars, or “webinars,” for students, explaining concepts and best practices. Students will put these lessons to practice by each running mock forex accounts playing with real data. The top 50 students will then each be given 100SGD (Singapore Dollars) to use in the real forex market. With the overall winner being awarded an internship at OANDA’s Singapore office.

The course aims to empower the individuals across different industries and levels, exposure to the Foreign Exchange World and make them aware of the sweeping changes that are currently taking place in this sphere. The goal is to equip these individuals with the tools and knowledge to effectively manage risk.

By the end of the programme the participants will understand: The FX market background and key concepts; Margin Trading; Trading Strategies; and Trading Best Practices.

Participants will be awarded a Statement of Attainment if they meet the following:

  • Full webinar attendance
  • Participation in FX Contest — for testing of key concepts

Also, the top 50 traders will win live FXTrade accounts with 100SGD funded. From that group, the top trader (1st place) will get a 2-month paid summer internship position at OANDA Asia Pacific in Singapore

The training programme will started in January and is expected to last for eight (8) weeks.
