Finishing school and deciding on your next step has to be one of the most exciting times of your life. Standing on the threshold of the rest of your life with innumerable experiences and opportunities ahead of you, it’s bound to fill you with a lot of emotions. You’re probably feeling a mixture of things: happiness, awe, and yes maybe a bit of confusion too. African Leadership Academy (ALA) is a great stepping stone to success for ambitious young Africans. Here are some of the ways that attending our academy can help you realize your potential and put you on track to success with your career choices:

Our academic programs

African Leadership Academy takes young people from across Africa and engages them in leadership development programs that will help them to become the kinds of individuals who can address African issues effectively. The Academy presents lab sessions introducing design-thinking principles, encourages an understanding of the needs of their local communities and looks at providing sustainable solutions using the lessons in the Student Enterprise Program, an integral part of our Entrepreneurial Leadership curriculum.

A world of opportunity

ALA provides a lot of opportunities for our students. The Academy has a dedicated team of experienced university guidance counsellors who work with each young leader to ensure the right career choices are made. ALA students have received financial assistance on the basis of financial need, approximately 94% of ALA students have received financial assistance. We offer support and professional development which doesn’t end after graduation, we enable successful entry into university through our programs including the Graduate Support and Host Family Programs. ALA’s Graduate Network provides alumni with life-long access to powerful networks, support and opportunities.

Our facilities

Our campus is situated in a tranquil, secure location just outside of Johannesburg where we have ample facilities for students to excel academically as well as in sports, creative and extracurricular activities.
