Each year, the Global Scholars Program (GSP) turns ALA’s campus in Johannesburg into a lively space of learning, laughter, and discovery. Open to teenagers aged 13 to 19 from around the world, GSP blends leadership, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange in a hands-on, three-week experience that pushes students to think differently and lead with heart.
This year’s program brought together bright, curious young people from across Africa and beyond. Guided by a team of dedicated ALA alumni educators, they explored real-world challenges through the BUILD model—learning how to design and prototype solutions that create real impact. Outside the classroom, friendships blossomed, ideas grew, and every moment reminded us what’s possible when young people unite around shared purpose.
Watch the video below to get a glimpse into the energy, creativity, and connection that make GSP one of ALA’s most transformative summer experiences.
